Mobile Ethnography
Ethnography is a scientific research strategy often used in social science. It is often employed for gathering empirical data on human societies and cultures. Data collection is often done through participant observation, interviews, questionnaires, etc. Ethnography aims to describe the nature of those who are studied (i.e. to describe a people, an ethnos) through writing.
How to set up the survey to capture data?
- Click on the Add New Question button.
- Select the Attach/Upload File question from under Advanced Question Types and click on the Next Button.
- Enter the Instructions and select the Data Input Type and save the question.
Available Data Input Types:
- Photo
- Video
- Audio/Voice
- Upload File (WEB) - Word,Excel, etc.
Users can either select files on their mobile devices or capture photo/video/audio files in real-time and upload.
Users can can take pictures using their phone camera and send the photo files.
Users can also take videos and send in the video/movie files.
Audio/Voice files can be recorded and sent.
What about Dairy Research?
The system can send surveys (on a daily/weekly basis) - for users to complete the same survey. This can be very useful in the case of longitudinal research, where there is continuous long-term study.
